Game Details
Urban Terror was first released in 1998 and this first person shooter game has received awards for its great game play and storyline
Has time been kind to the game or is it simply too dated to enjoy? Read on to find out
Urban Terror invited players to explore a realistically created city setting in search of danger and adventure
Fortunately, the realism comes to a hold at the environments and the game provides plenty of crazy touches to make it exciting and diverse
The game is presented with a short tutorial at the start that comes in the form of a video and spells out the basic story as well as showing players how to use the controls
Fortunately, the tutorial is over fairly quickly and the controls are fairly easy to get to grips with
Players are presented with a few special moves that can be a lot of fun such as jumping over walls, crouching power slides and strafe jumping
As you would expect, the graphics are a bit dated, but they still manage to display the gaming world very well and add a sense of atmosphere and mood to the game that matches the style of Urban Terror well
Players have a large selection of different weapons to choose from and getting to know how each of the weapons handles is an interesting part of the game
All of the most popular weapons of choice are represented here, from automatic rifles to grenade launchers that really pack a punch
Watching the grenades sail through the air towards their intended target can be strangely satisfying
Players also come up against a range of different types of assailants that are sure to make sure you keep looking over your shoulder
The snipers are particularly skilled and the attack sometimes seems to come out of nowhere, cutting you down just when you are ready to move onto the next stage
Despite the fact that Urban Decade is nearly two decades old, it still feels surprisingly fresh and engaging
The game plays very smoothly and the controls are easy to use
There is lots od action to keep gamers on their toes and the wide range of options that players are presented with keep the game feeling exciting even after playing for several hours

I recently revisited Urban Terror and was pleasantly surprised by how enjoyable it still is. The tutorial is concise and gets you right into the action without dragging on. The control system is intuitive, which makes it easy to pick up and play, even for newcomers. The combination of realism and arcade-like elements creates a fun atmosphere. The weapon variety is impressive, and the satisfaction of mastering each one is a highlight. The thrill of dodging sniper fire while trying to execute your own strategy is exhilarating. Urban Terror remains a classic worth playing!

I’m amazed at how Urban Terror has aged gracefully over the years. The fast-paced gameplay and unique mechanics, like wall jumps, make it a standout title. The tutorial is short and effective, getting players into the action quickly. The weapon selection is extensive, allowing for a personalized approach to combat. The graphics, while not modern, still manage to create an immersive atmosphere. I enjoy the challenge of facing off against skilled opponents, particularly the snipers that can catch you off guard. It’s a thrilling and fun experience that I would recommend to any FPS fan.

As a long-time fan of first-person shooters, I have to say that Urban Terror is still a blast to play. The game mechanics are fun and provide a refreshing take on the genre. I appreciate how the environment is designed; it feels like a living city filled with opportunities for ambushes and surprises. The controls are responsive, making it easy to execute those impressive moves like power slides. The diverse weapon selection ensures that you can tailor your play style. It’s a game that encourages creativity and adaptability, and I love every moment spent in it.
